Employee Interview

Head Office Sales Development Headquarters Passenger Sales Department Passenger Sales Section

The Passenger Sales Department is responsible for expanding the airline network at seven airports by proposing new routes and increasing the number of flights on existing routes. I am in charge of Fuji Dream Airlines domestically and Hong Kong, Singapore, and Thai airlines internationally, and I am responsible for implementing promotional plans to increase passenger numbers and conducting airline sales based on market analysis of passenger demand.

One of HAP's revenue sources is landing fees. These are fees collected when an aircraft lands at an airport, and are calculated in detail based on the route, aircraft, number of passengers, etc. Calculating these landing fees is also one of the tasks handled by the Passenger Sales Department.

Previously, I had been working in the medical field at a hospital for about seven years, but I was thinking about changing careers and seeing a completely different world, since we only have one life. That's when I found out about HAP's first mid-career recruitment. For my next job, I wanted to work for Hokkaido, the place I was born and raised in and love, so I instinctively knew this was it and applied. Perhaps my love for Hokkaido, which I had continued to emphasize during the interview, was recognized.

I returned to work after about two years of childcare leave, and I'm leading busy but fulfilling days, taking my daughter to and from nursery school and working full-time. Sometimes I have to suddenly leave work early because my daughter is unwell, but with the support of those around me, I can respond flexibly. My boss is always looking out for me, so I'm able to work within my limits, and I'm really grateful for the comfortable working environment, even while raising a child.

In October 2022, Tigerair Taiwan, the airline I was in charge of, launched a new route between New Chitose and Taipei. We held a ceremony and a welcome event for arriving passengers at international flights terminal, and after seeing the terminal deserted for over two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic, I was overwhelmed with emotion when I saw passengers arriving from overseas.

We, the employees, share a vision of becoming a company that invigorates Hokkaido and contributes to its future, and we believe that our daily work contributes to the revitalization of the Hokkaido region. I think that people who have a love for Hokkaido are particularly suited to HAP! Let's work together to achieve a better future for Hokkaido!

How to spend your holidays

In the past, I was active with my hobbies, but now my focus is on my children. I leave my children at daycare during the week, so on the weekends I go out as a family and cherish the time I spend with them.
