2. Hakodate Tartan POP UP

Date and time: Saturday, December 6th, 2025 to Thursday, December 25th, 2025 *Irregularly held

3. Christmas tree decorations incorporating Hakodate tartan

*What is "Hakodate tartan"?

Hakodate tartan is based on the "tartan check" that originated in Scotland.

The red brick warehouses, the red of the streetcar "Hakodate Haikara No.", the deep blue of the Tsugaru Straits, and the white of the winter snow in southern Hokkaido,

This is an original Hakodate checkered pattern, with four sepia colors, derived from squid ink, woven vertically and horizontally.

It will be officially registered with the Scottish Tartan Association in October 2024.
