New Year's decorations

Time flies, and there are only a few days left in the year.

Hakodate Airport will be offering a festive New Year's atmosphere to all those visiting the airport during the New Year holidays.

We have New Year's decorations in the building for your enjoyment.

This year, we received cooperation from Akiko Sasaki, a calligrapher living in Hakodate City.

A banner was set up with the calligraphy "Happy New Year" and the Chinese zodiac sign for next year, "horse."

The design also features the Hakodate tartan, a popular check pattern original to Hakodate.

The decoration is full of local flavor.

If you are visiting the airport, be sure to take a look at the combination of Sasaki's powerful calligraphy and Hakodate tartan.

We sincerely hope that you all have a bright and prosperous new year.
