Sapporo Conference Rooms for 50 People: Comparison of Prices, Access, and Facilities | Conference Rooms, Hotels, and Public Facilities
If you're looking for a meeting room in Sapporo, and your participants are arriving by plane from both within and outside Hokkaido, why not broaden your search to include locations outside of Sapporo?
Using New Chitose Airport Portom Hall reduces the need for transfers to secondary transportation (JR, bus, etc.) after arriving at the airport, and simplifies route guidance for event organizers.
Here, we compare venues in Sapporo area with those at New Chitose Airport. To compare the differences between venues under common conditions, we have categorized the candidates into four types: "Rental conference rooms in Sapporo area," "Hotel-attached rooms in Sapporo area," "Public facilities in Sapporo area," and "Portom Hall at New Chitose Airport." The conference size is set at 50 people, which is a common request in inquiries received for Portom Hall. Furthermore, we added the conditions of a 2-hour weekday conference use and school-style seating, and compared the minimum charge for the smallest room that meets the requirements, as well as transportation after arrival at the airport, accommodation, and equipment, to help determine which type is best suited for your company's conference or event.

Approximately 10 minutes on foot inside the airport.
For a meeting of 50 people, held for 2 hours on a weekday, and arranged in a schoolroom style, we selected the smallest room that can accommodate 50 people. For facilities that cannot be rented in 2-hour increments, we used the fee for the minimum time period required. For the three types of venues in Sapporo area, we selected three facilities for each type and simply averaged the lowest fees within each facility. This does not include equipment, catering, or setup costs other than the venue rental fee.

Comparing meeting rooms and their prices in Sapporo area for a group of 50 people for a 2-hour weekday session.
To select venues for comparison using the same criteria for the three types of venues in Sapporo area, we performed a Google search on July 28, 2026, using the search keywords "Sapporo rental conference room," "Sapporo hotel conference room," and "Sapporo conference room public facility," which are actually used by people considering venues. From the official websites that appeared at the top of the search results, we selected three facilities for each type, where we could check the capacity and fees. We also checked the minimum usage time and usage categories for each facility, and compared the fees based on the minimum fee required for 50 people, 2 hours on weekdays, for conference use, and in a classroom style.
Sapporo area, rental meeting rooms: Minimum price estimate: Average 32,780 yen (tax included) and up.
The minimum rates for the three selected facilities were ¥59,510 (tax included), ¥23,430 (tax included), and ¥15,400 (tax included). They are easy to find around Sapporo Station and Odori, making them suitable for those who want to rent a meeting room in Sapporo for a short period of time.

The minimum rates for the three selected facilities were ¥139,150 (tax included), ¥75,900 (tax included), and ¥46,000 (tax included). Sapporo hotel conference rooms are well-suited for arranging post-meeting banquets and overnight stays in the same building. Audio/visual equipment, screens, and whiteboards are often charged separately, so it's necessary to estimate venue costs and equipment costs separately.
Sapporo area, public facilities: Minimum estimated fee: Average 6,420 yen (tax included) ~
The three selected facilities have minimum rates starting from ¥10,200 (tax included), ¥5,800 (tax included), and ¥3,260 (tax included), making them strong contenders when looking for an affordable meeting room in Sapporo. Most are available for rent by time slot (morning/afternoon, etc.), and some facilities require group registration, while others have higher rates depending on commercial use and the type of organizer. You should check the application conditions before deciding if a facility is truly affordable.
New Chitose Airport Portom Hall: Minimum price estimate: ¥46,710 (tax included) and up
For 50 people, you can choose half of our seminar room, which has 72 seats in a school-style layout. The basic rate for a 2-hour meeting or seminar starts from 46,710 yen (tax included). While the venue fee is higher than the cheapest of the three types of venues in Sapporo area, it reduces the travel costs for participants arriving by plane to Sapporo city center, and the need for organizers to provide information on transfers for secondary transportation.

If 50 people gather from both within and outside Hokkaido, we should also compare the travel time from the airport.

If you choose a venue within Sapporo city, the organizer will need to guide participants on how to transfer to JR trains and buses, the nearest station, exits, and walking routes. The more diverse arriving flight and accommodations of participants, the more inquiries will likely be handled. In winter, you will need to anticipate delays and cancellations of JR trains and buses due to Snow and prepare to contact participants and provide information on alternative routes.
Portom Hall New Chitose Airport is directly connected to the arrival lobby on the 2nd floor of New Chitose Airport international flights Domestic Passenger Terminal Building. It is also about a 10-minute walk from domestic flights Domestic Passenger Terminal Building and JR New Chitose Airport Station via indoor connecting facilities. This makes it easy to summarize directions to the reception area with a common sign saying "New Chitose Airport, international flights 2nd Floor," shortening the explanation of the route to the reception. There is also a hotel directly connected to the airport, making it a convenient location for meetings requiring an overnight stay or for those returning on a flight the next morning.

Summary: For a conference attracting participants from both within and outside Hokkaido, choose the venue type based on three criteria.

If you prioritize holding the event within Sapporo city and minimizing venue costs, consider renting a conference room or using a public facility.
If your schedule includes events in Sapporo before and after the meeting, and minimizing venue costs is a priority, then rented conference rooms or public facilities are good options. In addition to checking availability on your desired date and time, minimum usage time, and commercial use conditions, you should also check secondary transportation from the airport.
If you want to combine accommodation and a social gathering in the same building within Sapporo city, a hotel with an attached facility would be ideal.
This is ideal for situations where you want to complete everything from overnight training sessions and conferences to post-conference banquets within the same building. We will provide a simultaneous estimate for the number of guest rooms, banquet plans, and additional charges for audio-visual equipment.
If you want to reduce the amount of travel and guidance required after arriving at the airport, New Chitose Airport Portom Hall
This venue is ideal for events with a large number of participants arriving by air, such as nationwide branch meetings, agency meetings, training sessions, award ceremonies, and information sessions. Since participants can gather without having to travel from the airport to Sapporo, participant information can be streamlined, allowing event organizers to dedicate more time to venue preparation and event management.
If participants are coming from both within and outside Hokkaido, it's important not to limit yourself to Sapporo city. You need to compare not only venue rental fees, but also secondary transportation from the airport to the venue, the risk of traffic disruptions in winter, and the effort required for the organizers to guide attendees. Why not streamline your conference operations by using New Chitose Airport Portom Hall, where participants can gather within the airport?
