Wakkanai Airport Runway Walking 2024 to be held!

Hokkaido Airports Co., Ltd.'s Wakkanai Airport Office will hold the "Wakkanai Airport Runway Walking 2024" on Saturday, September 7, 2024.
Please check the following information and apply!

Runway Walking Overview

Date and time: Saturday, September 7, 2024 17:05 after the last flight takes off
Location: Wakkanai Airport runway (within the restricted area)

As a new initiative this year, there will be a concert by Yumiko Orishige (claviola player), Akiyoshi Sekine (guitar player), and Masayo (vocals), as well as an environmental talk by Yoshiharu Hirano of FDK Corporation. Please look forward to it!

Please read the following points before filling out the application form.
If you do not agree to the terms and conditions, you will not be able to participate in the runway walking.

Important Notices for the Event

1. Those who have applied (or those who have been selected in the lottery) will be notified by email to "no-reply.wkj@hokkaido-airports.co.jp" approximately one week before the event.
2. "Runway Walking" will be canceled in case of rain, as it is held outdoors. Other events may be postponed depending on weather conditions. However, the "Concert and Environmental Lecture" will be held at the same time, even if it rains.
3. We will inform you by email around noon (12:00) the day before whether the event will be held or not.

Important points to note when applying

1. For security reasons, only those who have applied in advance will be allowed onto the runway. Please enter the names, phonetic spellings, and ages of all event participants who will be entering the runway.
2. Children under elementary school age must be accompanied by a parent/guardian aged 18 or over to participate.
3. If there are a large number of applications, we will hold a lottery.
4. Pets are not allowed on the runway.

Important Notices on the Day of the Event

1. Please check the meeting time and location in the email sent to you approximately one week before the event.
2. We will verify your identity by presenting a form of identification (e.g. driver's license) at the reception. Children should also present an ID such as an insurance card.
3. As this event takes place in a restricted area that is normally off-limits, entry or exit will not be permitted midway.
4. Only valuables, smartphones (cell phones), and cameras are allowed to be brought into the facility during the tour. baggage cannot be checked in, so please leave it in your car.
5. In the event of an emergency, the event may be canceled or its content may be changed.
6. Do not touch any airfield lights within the restricted area.

Other notes

1. Please follow the instructions of staff when participating in the event.
2. There are some areas where photography is prohibited. Please be careful when uploading photos to social media. If you have any questions, please ask the staff nearby.
3. Staff may take photos of the event. These photos may be used and posted on the Hokkaido Airport website and various social media platforms as activity reports.
4. Any personal information collected will be used only for this event and will be promptly destroyed after the event ends.
