▶ Overview of "Wakkanai Airport Sky Day Festival 2025"

Date and time: July 27, 2025 (Sunday) 10:00-15:00

Location: Wakkanai Airport Special Venue

This year, the building facing the restricted area will be opened as the main venue, where you can enjoy various events and meals while watching planes take off and land. In addition, a part of the apron (parking area) that is normally closed to the public will be specially opened to the public, where fire engines and snow removal vehicles will be on display and visitors will be able to experience riding in the driver's seat.

Below are some details about the event!

・ANA Kids Marshalling Experience (first come, first served *Registration on the day)

A marshal is a person who signals the pilot with a paddle in his hand and guides the plane. He plays an important role in guiding the plane, which has many blind spots, to the safe parking area.

In this event, you will learn how to marshal beforehand, and then you will get to experience marshalling in front of an actual plane that has landed in Wakkanai! This is a rare opportunity, so please apply!

・Fry to Fly Project (recovery of household waste cooking oil)

As part of the "Fry to Fly Project," we will be setting up a collection booth for used cooking oil!

The edible oil you bring will be used as raw material for making environmentally friendly sustainable aviation fuel called "SAF (Sustainable Aviation Fuel)".

There will also be a corner to introduce this project, so please take this opportunity to cooperate with us towards realizing a safe and sustainable society!

<About collection of used cooking oil *Salad oil will be given away on a first-come, first-served basis>

・Applicable to: Used or expired (unused) liquid vegetable oil at room temperature

・How to use: Please put it in a plastic bottle (2 liters or less) and bring it to the venue.

・Operation Gundam R (Recycle)

Operation Gundam R is part of the Gunpla Recycle Project, which aims to create a circular society by recycling collected Gunpla runners (the frames of plastic models).

At the "Sky Day Festival 2025" event venue, we will be distributing Ecopla's Gundam experience kits, holding assembly experience sessions, displaying panels to learn about Gunpla recycling activities, and collecting used runners.

*Each person will be limited to one Ecopla gift or one chance to participate in the Gunpla experience. Also, numbers are limited.

*Target age is 6 years old and above. Children under 6 years old must be accompanied by a guardian.

Events and Venues

• The event content may be changed or canceled due to weather conditions, etc.
• Please eat and drink in the eating and drinking area at the venue.

Parking lot related

• Regular parking lots are for airplane passengers only. Visitors to the Sky Day Festival are asked to follow the instructions of the staff and park in the "visitor parking lots."
• We are not responsible for any accidents that occur in the parking lot.
• Admission may be restricted during peak hours. Please come in groups of multiple people.
