[Notice from the Plant Quarantine Station] For customers bringing plants in carry-on baggage from overseas (Plant Quarantine Information for Travellers to Japan)
The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries' Plant Protection Station has established a number of measures to prevent the incursion of pests from overseas that cause damage to plants in Japan.
We carry out quarantine procedures such as import inspections at airports and seaports across the country.
If you bring in fruits, vegetables, grains, cut flowers, seeds, seedlings, or other plants or processed products made from plants from overseas,
After immigration, you must undergo plant quarantine inspection at the "Plant Quarantine Counter" inside the customs inspection area before customs inspection.
Please note that there are many plants that are prohibited from being brought into Japan, so please check the Plant Protection Station website or your nearest Plant Protection Station in advance.
