Notice regarding mandatory security inspection under Civil Aeronautics Act

From March 10, 2022, due to amendments to Civil Aeronautics Act, security inspection before boarding an aircraft will become mandatory.

If you proceed beyond security inspection without undergoing security inspection, you will be in violation of Civil Aeronautics Act and may be subject to imprisonment of up to one year or a fine of up to 500,000 yen. When boarding an aircraft, please follow the instructions of security inspection and other relevant staff and undergo security inspection.

In addition, as part of anti-terrorism measures against aircraft, as per instructions from the Civil Aviation Bureau of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, pre-boarding inspections of outerwear, shoes and explosives have been strengthened since September 13, 2019. Due to the strengthened inspections, security inspection may take longer, so please arrive at the airport with plenty of time.
