To customers bringing in fruits, vegetables, rice, beans, and other plants from overseas (Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Plant Protection Station)
Plant Protection Stations conduct plant quarantine inspections at airports and seaports throughout Japan to prevent the introduction of pests that cause damage to Japanese plants from overseas.
Please understand that any illegal import of plants or failure to declare an import will be subject to penalties.
(Duty-free items, food, and in-flight meals sold at airports overseas are also subject to quarantine.)
Also, please be aware that there are regulations when taking plants overseas from Japan.
